Meet the Team

John Andrew, Principal
With more than 22 years of broad-based experience as a Human Resources executive John Andrew manages HR Performance Group, Inc., a strategic human resource consulting firm specializing in bringing clarity to the costs and benefits of critical people decisions affecting all companies. As the founder of HR Performance Group (HRPG), Mr. Andrew works with small and mid-sized firms to align employees with company goals to achieve better results. HRPG typically works with Business Owners, CEOs and Managing Partners bringing a straightforward, pragmatic approach to deliver realistic results and business predictability.
Previously, Mr. Andrew oversaw the HR function of Niteo Partners, a new wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, one of the world's largest makers of computers. As such, Mr. Andrew was responsible for the development of the HR infrastructure of the company. In this capacity, Mr. Andrew was charged with the creation, implementation and oversight of all HR programs including Performance Management, Senior Management and Board Level counsel and advisement, company culture development, the compensation program, and employee relations.
Previous to Niteo Partners, Mr. Andrew served as Vice President for People at Zefer Corporation, a strategy-led Internet consulting firm, where he managed and directed all aspects of the human resources operations for the $100M company. In this role, Mr. Andrew gained direct experience in building human resource functions for one of the fastest-growing companies in existence during the year 2000 as well as managing the myriad employee-related programs during its ultimate shut-down in 2001. At the height of the company's operations, Mr. Andrew managed a team of ten H.R. managers and professionals located in Zefer's five domestic offices. Mr. Andrew was promoted while at Zefer from Regional People Director to Vice President and was a member of the Senior Management team.
At Installshield Software Corporation, Mr. Andrew managed the human resources function for this high growth, market leading software development company. During his tenure, Installshield grew from 145 to 250 employees. Mr. Andrew developed retention programs resulting in a 10% improvement in retention while simultaneously reducing the number of low performers in the organization. He built processes and systems to effectively help the organization grow such as implementing termination, performance improvement planning, departmental transfer, and candidate communication processes.
Additionally, Mr. Andrew has experience in building human resource functions and programs for T-Wack Software Group, Employer's Consortium, and Landmark Homes.
Mr. Andrew is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resource by the Society for Human Resource Management and he serves as a Board member of the Technical Recruiter's Network.
A graduate of the University of Kansas who also conducted post graduate studies at Gordon-Conwell in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, Mr. Andrew lives with his wife and their three children in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
